Oxidation changes the way metal presents.
Bare aluminum can dull or lose reflectivity as exposure and contamination build. A thoughtful brightwork plan starts by identifying the actual material and how much refinement it can safely take—not by chasing a finish that the aircraft cannot support.

Confirm the material before the machine.
Painted, anodized, plated, sealed, composite and structurally sensitive areas are not automatically treated as polishable brightwork. We plan around approved surfaces, accessible work areas, the aircraft's guidance and any facility rules.
Visible pits, corrosion, coating failure or unknown previous work may call for a different specialist evaluation before cosmetic polishing. We do not represent detailing as an airworthiness inspection or repair.
Discuss my aircraftFrom dull metal to a defined finish.
Four decisions shape the scope; the aircraft and its material set the limits.
- 01
Identify the metal
We confirm whether the requested brightwork is suitable bare metal rather than a painted, anodized or plated finish.
- 02
Read the condition
Oxidation, staining, existing finish, access and adjacent sensitive areas shape a realistic refinement scope.
- 03
Refine in stages
Where approved, the least-aggressive effective sequence of compatible cleaning and polishing is selected.
- 04
Plan the upkeep
We discuss compatible protection and maintenance so the refined surface has a practical care plan.
Any protective product or final finish is selected only after material compatibility is confirmed.
Brightwork questions.
Ask about the aircraft and the surfaces you want reviewed. No before/after outcome is assumed from an illustration.
Can all aircraft aluminum be polished?
No. We first confirm the material and its finish. Some aircraft components are painted, anodized, plated or otherwise unsuitable for polishing.
Will polishing remove deep pits or corrosion?
Not necessarily. Severe pitting or damage may be outside an appearance-care scope; we do not promise correction that would require specialist inspection or repair.
Can you work on a Beechcraft C-45?
We welcome inquiries about C-45 and other vintage aircraft. Actual work is subject to the airframe, material condition, approved scope and facility access. The aircraft imagery shown is illustrative, not a completed project.
Request a brightwork assessment.
Tell us the make, model, location and areas you want inspected. Brightwork Restoration is selected; condition photos are optional but helpful.
